General Ahmad Yani

   Ahmad Yani is a patriot who has done many services. He was born in Purworejo on 19th June 1922. Ahmad Yani interested in the military world and register to the Topographic Service of Military located in Malang, East Java. He graduated from military education with the rank of Sergeant.

   During the war of independence, Ahmad Yani also contributed a lot. When Japan colonized Indonesia, Ahmad Yani joined PETA and managed to confiscate Japans weapons. When Dutch launched the first Military Aggression, Ahmad Yani with his troops managed to stem the Dutch attack. When DI/TII rebells, Ahmad Yani and the Benteng Raiders managed to defeat DI/TII.

   In political view, Ahmad Yani disagrees and always opposes PKI. When the PKI tried to form the 5th force which consisted of armed farm workers, Ahmad Yani immediately refused. This is the reason why he was included in the PKI's kidnapping and murder target in 1965. He was kidnapped and killed and his body was inserted into an old well in the Lubang Buaya area through the G30 S / PKI rebellion operation. He dies opposing the wrong till the end.
